Are you often at a loss on what to blog about? If so, you’re not alone.
One way to remedy this is to pick a topic and write about it in list form. How To’s, Top 10, Best of, Common Mistakes, Do’s, and Don’ts. Once you have your list made, include real-world examples that tell the rest of the story.
For example, if your blog is about travel, you could write a post about “The World’s Top 10 Most Bizarre Places to Stay While on Vacation.” Briefly discuss each of the 10 accommodations and locations in two to three sentences, and post a picture or video of the hotel, lodge, or camp below each description. Voilá—you have a topic.
A perfect example of a blogger who took advantage of writing a “Top 5” list is Doug Stewart, blogger for Power To Fight the Big Boys. Doug’s post, titled “5 Ways to Promote your Small Business Online Today. I dare you to . . .,” provides readers with real-world examples of how specific companies used effective marketing tools to promote their businesses.

He has some good advice. My problem is I always worry too much about things needing to be perfect. Blogs and videos certainly can drive traffic to your company site, but they can also turn people off from your product if done poorly. So I spend a lot of time trying to make my ideas perfect instead of actually posting them. (Zefrank would call it brain crack–http://www.zefrank.com/theshow/archives/2006/07/071106.html)
Thank you for this blog post. I am quite often at a loss as to what to blog about, but you’ve given me food for thought. Think about what I truly love and let the words come from my heart.
I love this post.

Hi Damien,
Yes, if a video or post is done poorly they can most definitely turn people away. But, if you do your research and you’re confident in the advice you’re providing, you should have no problem attracting potential clients. I find that sometimes over thinking when you’re writing blogs is simply a waste of time. Trust what you’re saying.
Hi Sandy,
Glad I could be of help! Thanks for your kind words.
